Company History

1991

After 27 years as Salvador Caetano employee, Fernando Vieira de Sousa joined his wife, Maria Pilar Teixeira, to found “Fernando & Teixeira, Lda”. The company’s goal was to supply heating and air conditioned to the buses assembled by Caetano Bus, in Vila Nova de Gaia.

1995

After four years working in a small garage, “Fernando & Teixeira, Lda” moved to the current headquarters, also in Vila Meã, a small village in a Amarante (Porto district), with fine connections by road and train.

2000

Responding to market demands, the company extends its services to gas installations, central heating and air conditioning systems.

2002

The company gets the quality certification in heating and cooling systems for buses, according to the rule NP EN ISO 9001:2000, by Apcer, a company that participates in IQNet - The International Certification Network.

2007

In the application process for a public work permit, the company changes its name to “FT System, Lda”.

2008

“FT System, Lda” gets the public work permit, that allows the company to supply the government and other public institutions.

2014

The company obtains quality certification for the service of installation, maintenance and technical assistance of fixed refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps equipment, containing fluorinated gases.

2015

“FT System, Lda” quality certification is extended to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Systems, Solar Energy, Gas and Hydraulic Networks, thus covering all areas of the company.

2016

“FT System, Lda” is nominated PME Excelência (SME Excelence), a status given to best small and medium-sized enterprises by IAPMEI (Portuguese Agence for Competitiveness and Innovation).

2018

“FT System, Lda” is again nominated PME Líder (SME Leader) by IAPMEI, renovating the status obtained in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017.

2018

FT System completed, with success, the transition of its quality system to ISO 9001:2015.

2018

The company starts the certification process of an environmental management System (under ISO 14001:2015 requirements) and a Occupational Health & Safety management system (under ISO/FDIS 45001:2017 requirements).

2019

“FT System, Lda” is again nominated PME Excelência (SME Excelence), a status given to best small and medium-sized enterprises by IAPMEI (Portuguese Agence for Competitiveness and Innovation).

FT System is a portuguese company, founded in 1991, that provides air conditioning, ventilation, central heating systems and solar panels.


What we do

We supply air conditioning and heating systems for Caetano Bus, the most important manufacturer of buses and coaches in Portugal. We also provide and install air conditioning and central heating for hotels, banks, houses and other housing and commercial facilities. Our services also include gas installations and solar panels.
